Insha’Allah Bro Mohammed Khan will tap on his vast experiences to provide some insight on the subject of discussion, Islam and the Media.Biography of Sidi Muhammad UmarMuhammad Umar is the Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation, Patron of Ramadhan Trust, founding member of Ramadhan Publishing House and chief Patron of the Happy Home Trust (registered charity England & Wales) which provides free lodging, food and education for the poor orphaned children of Asia.Sidi Muhammad Umar was the youngest person be to invited on the BBC HardTalk to discuss the aftermath of the 7th July terrorist attacks in London. He is only 27 years old, but he has appeared on numerous TV and radio interviews. He has also delivered lectures throughout the UK, Europe and the USA on the Muslim role in the west, interfaith and peaceful co-existence. He is great advocator of tolerance and peaceful co-existence.He started his earlier Islamic education by studying Qur’an and its sciences at the Masjid which his noble father built, Shaykh Muhammad Ramadan al Budally.
He studied jurisprudence with local scholars particularly with with the noble and learned scholar of Islam, Alama Qari Muhamamd Ismail Mibahi. He then went at the young age of 18 to the blessed land of Mauritania, where he studied with the learned and noble scholar of Islam, Allamah Shaykh Muhammad Salim weld Adood. He studied the Ajromiya with Shaykh Muhammad Salim weld Adood. He also studied some chapters of the Ajrumiyyah with Shaykh Abdur Rahman weld Hajj (son of Shaykh Murabit al Hajj).Muhammad Umar took the Shadili order directly from the noble and learned scholar and wali of Islam, Shaykh Hasan bin as Siddiq al Ghumari (Hafidullah). He also took his Ijaza in Aqeedah and Hadith from the great and noble scholar of Islam, Shaykh Ahmad Kamel Hussain Darwish al Misri. Al Muhadith Shaykh Ahmad Darwish also gave him a special ijaza in over 450 books including the Aqeeda at Tahawiyyah of Imam Tahawi (rd).He has also sat in the company of a number of great shuyukh including: Shaykh Ibrahim bin as Siddiqi al Ghumari (ra), Shaykh Murabit al Haj (Mauritania), Shaykh Ahmad Murabit, the deputy Grand Mufti of Mauritania, Shaykh Ahmad Fal (Mauritania), Shaykh Muhammad Zain (Mauritania), Shaykh Abdur Rahman weld Haj (Mauritania), Shaykh Muhammad Hasan wal Dawdo (Mauritania), Shaykh Mahmud Sa`id Mamduh of Emirates, author of superb documentation work titled Raf` al-Minara fi Takhrij Ahadith al-Tawassul wa al-Ziyara (“Raising the Lighthouse: Documentation of the Narrations Pertaining to Using an Intermediary and Visitation”), Shaykh al Mufti Akhtar Rida Khan of India, Azize Millat Allama Ash Shah Abdul Hafiz, and the grand Muhaddith of the Haramain, Shaykh al-Sharif Al-Sayyid Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Alawi ibn Abbas (rah).Muhammad Umar’s search for the knowledge and truth has taken him to various places from the deserts of Mauritania to Morocco, Egypt and the UK. He has also led various delegations to different parts of the world. Currently he is publishing his first book on the Traditional Education System of Islam and he is also editing to publish a number of other titles. Currently he resides with his family in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom.
